“What can artistic perspectives reveal that data and facts cannot? How does art succeed in making this tangible? Can art and technology work together for the development of new forms of communication, empathy, solidarity, and responsibility for our environment? These questions will be the focus of silent green‘s major group exhibition UnNatural Encounters in January 2025. Ten specially selected works, created between 2022 and 2024 within the scope of the European Media Art Platform‘s (EMAP) Europe-wide residency programme, will be presented in the Betonhalle. As part of the exhibition, transmediale will present an eleventh work in the adjacent transmediale studio. The works exhibited are an exploration of the fundamental issues of our time: environmental sustainability, socio-ecological justice and technological change. All of the artists work on a transdisciplinary and collaborative basis, bringing together art, science and technology in innovative ways. …”
