Recently the Berlin Bureau of Statistics have released numbers and figures describing the Berlin Apartment Construction in 2015. And since I find the numbers quite interesting I had a closer look and I’ll try to sum up some of them.

Berlin City Palace – historical and current photos

Since 2012 the inner city area around Schlossplatz is a gigantic construction site: the Humboldtforum is built where Berlin’s City Palace once was. I know, most people refer to the new building as ‘The City Castle’ or just “The Castle” – but only because it looks like a castle and it’s located where the old […]

another real estate project in Prenzlauer Berg

If you’ve been to Kastanienalle in Prenzlauer Berg, you probably know this wide open space opposite of the Biergarden Prater that was used as a parking area for ages. Nothing special – just some space for about 100 cars, some trees, some trash, some graffiti – a short cut and an open view connecting Kastanienallee […]

Just jump on that train and non-stop travel across the city. The disruption was necessary to make work on the new U-Bahn station Unter den Linden possible, where good old U6 and […]

Berlin-Wall-Paper – Notes from News

The mayor of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, Monika Herrmann is currently loudly thinking and talking about installing Coffee Shops to undermine the local *soft drug business*. Finally!! And skyscrapers are back: US-American investor Hines is planning to build a high rise building at Alexanderplatz. The tower would reach 150m in height, that’s about 50m beneath the visitor platform […]

Further developments on Kastanienallee Prenzlauer Berg

Today i discovered this plastic Toilet in Kastanienallee in front of the language school. I suppose it’s indicating that very soon also the lower part of Kastanienallee will be a construction site… The upper part of Kastanienallee has been geavily under construction for quite a while – and it actually still isn’t finished yet. The […]
